WHOA it's been a while!

So on my CupCakeSmash FB fan page I put a post up about a fan lift. I am thinking about starting that whole thing when I get back from STL. So then I can have it done before school starts. Here is some great news for CupCake Smash, we are partnering up with Deanna Photography on Sunday the 29th for a photo shoot in New Town, St.Charles. It's going to be a blast. This is just way for us to get our names out there, have some fun, and build up our portfolio's. The girls can where whatever they want. Just come with a clean face and already to have a good time. All make up will be done free of charge by CupCake Smash and photography and a free 5x7 is given by Deanna's Photography. Also there will be photos for purchase as well if you would like. I hope everyone can come out. Spread the word, we are going to be getting started on make up at 5, and photos are at 6:30ish. As many girlies we can get the better. I will put directions up for this event asap. Tonight I am going to check the area out that Deanna has in mind. I can't wait to see you lovely ladies there.

NYX Jumbo Pencils-Review

Last week I bought like 11 pencils from the lovely Matthew. I am in love with them. They are an amazing base. I haven't used them on their own and prolly don't plan to! I have been using these pencils everyday since I got them. The only color I need and really want is the "milk" which is a pure white color. I really don't have anything bad to say about these. I don't use a whole lot lot so they don't crease so I haven't had that problem. Matthew is planning on melting his pencils into pots, I will see how it goes and then maybe do mine. It would be awesome to have all of them in a palette or something. Anyways, besides these being totally awesome they are cheap too, just like all of NYX's products. I think they run about 4 bucks a pencil.

Tarte mascara vs Sephora mascara

The sephora mascara I got in the birthday kit. If you aren't a beauty insider for sephora you should be. For my birthday I got a eye liner pencil, a eye shadow and a mascara. The tarte mascara I also got for free from the contest that Kyle won for me lol. I am a fan of Tarte cosmetics on FB they were having a contest where you had to guess how many mascara's were in a jar. Kyle did some thinking and came up with the number 47, there were 46 but they picked the 46,47 and 48. With that I got the mascara and a lash curler. Over all I like the sephora mascara the best. When it is gone I will buy another. I will put links to both below. The tarte mascara is kinda thick, it also has like a washer thing in the top that keeps falling down. The sephora mascara looks good regardless. I think when you put a eye liner on your mascara seems to disappear. It seems like it doesn't make your lashes more full or longer, but the sephora does. It's great. The Sephora lash plumper is 14 bucks and the Tarte multiplEYE extend 3 is 24 bucks. So right there the cost dif is crazy. I'm not sure if the Tarte mascara isn't good cause it's like a 3 or a million step process. Which is a waste of time and money. So far I haven't been happy with the 2 things that I have gotten from Tarte!

CHI haircare- Review

I guess this crazyness started when I get my CHI like a few christmas ago. With my CHI came a bottle of silk infusion, i started using the product and liked it a lot. Then when I was working at walgreens they marked 44 iron guard down 50% off so liking the silk infusion I went ahead and bought it. I haven't used anything on my hair since. I used to use Sebastian Potion 9 Wearable Treatment it's pretty good too but I really liked the CHI stuff instead. All 3 of these products you can buy at Sally's. The CHI stuff you can even get at drug stores. Sally's also sells GVP (generic value products) which is a generic for a lot of products including these 3 products. In combo with the 2 CHI products I use Tresemme Thermal Recovery Replenishing Hair shampoo and conditioner. All great stuff. I will post the links to all the items in this post below!

NYLON magazine- Review

I found Nylon magazine in the Las Vegas Airport on my way to Orlando. I had heard that a few of my favorite YouTube guru's were going to be in it, like Kandee Johnson and a few others. I really enjoyed the mag. It has the latest fashion, bands, and of course make up. My favorite thing to do is go through it and put bunny ears on the pages of the make up I wanna try and re do. There some really good article's in Nylon, you get to see what famous people are up too and what kinda crazy fashions they have going on. I will post some pictures of some of the ads that I am going to re do. I will letcha know what products I used and that kinda thing!


NYLON magazine is only 14.95 for a year subscription in the US.

NYX eyeshadow and glitter- Review

In STL I went into the ghetto beauty store with NyNy to look at cosmetics, wigs and hair extensions. I found some NYX products while I was there. I was sad that they didn't have the jumbo pencil in milk but I will get a hold of one of them sooner or later. So while I was there I got one pigment and some glitters. I got Purple, Hot Pink and Blue glitter and the Jade pearl pigment. I am pretty happy with them. So in the picture above (right) is the look I did. Here is the list of products I used on my eyes:

A green wet n wild eye liner pencil all over the lid, then the Jade pearl pigment all over the lid. In the outer corner I used Stila loves barbie in cobalt clutch then the blue glitter over the top of it. Under the wet line I used lavish pigment from BFTE and MAC pigment in vanilla in the inner corner. So I am sure like always pros and cons:

Pros:

The glitters are pretty colors and for the most part come out that color on the lid

Cheap they were like 2 bucks or less

It's cruelty free and hypoallergenic

Cons:

The pearl shadows didn't have that many uncommon colors besides the jade color I got

The way the bottle is you can't tap some in the cap, you have to find something to pour it into

The Famous Kandee Johnson Lemon Sugar scrub-Review

I'm a total fan of a lot of YouTube.com make up guru's. One of my personal favorites is Kandee Johnson. I am always copying her fashion and techniques. Besides all of her videos being awesome. I found this one, it was a awesome video she did.

She did like a late night infomercial, it was a easy and cheap lemon sugar scrub. You just mix lemon juice (however you wanna come by it) and sugar (she uses organic)

and take it and rub it all over your face. It feels grrrreeeeeaaaaattt! Here is a link to the video:
